Research Assistant

Elaine is a Research Assistant in the Bioimaging facility, specialising in electron microscopy.

Elaine’s role includes sample preparation such as embedding and sectioning for transmission electron microscopy and some light microscopy, preparation for and imaging on the scanning electron microscopes and imaging on the transmission electron microscope including negative staining work.

She also provides training, technical support and advice on the electron microscopes and preparative equipment, especially on the ultramicrotome for sectioning or can provide a full service from sample preparation right through to imaging on the microscopes.
