Dr Eva Wegel

In the BioImaging facility, we have a wide range of advanced microscopes and Eva supports all forms of light microscopy.

Microscopy is used to visualise organisms, tissues, cells and molecules that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Eva trains users in confocal, wide-field and super-resolution microscopy as well as sample preparation and carries out imaging projects on request. Her special interest lies in increasing resolution.

In the Bioimaging facility, they achieve this through super-resolution microscopy (structured illumination microscopy and single molecule localisation microscopy), through Airyscan imaging or through deconvolution.

Together with Sergio Lopez, Eva runs an annual light microscopy course over four days that is open to participants from Norwich Research Park.
