Simon’s role in the Germplasm Resource Unit is to maintain, and distribute seed.

His principle responsibility is towards derived material resource tools such as mapping and tilling populations.

He carries out the role of Designing Future Wheat Breeder Tool Kit Coordinator which requires working closely with all the major UK wheat breeders along with academic partners Rothamsted, NIAB, Earlham Institute, Nottingham and Bristol Universities to ensure research outcomes are tested widely for the introduction of novel germplasm to the UK wheat breeding pool.
