Alex Healey

Support Specialist Archivist

Alex is responsible for managing and sharing the John Innes Library and Archives (Historical Collections), including the history of genetics library and rare book collection.

The historical collections span five centuries of knowledge about plants and the natural world, and offer a unique opportunity to explore the history of science, particularly plant and microbial research, as well as the history of genetics, and botanical art.

The collections are open to public access by appointment, and Alex answers enquiries and facilitates group visits, as well as supporting individual researchers.

Please get in touch with Alex if you’re interested in booking a visit for yourself or a group.
