Dr Adam Bentham

Postdoctoral Scientist

Adam Bentham is a structural biologist who works on plant innate immunity with the aim of understanding how the plant immune system functions to prevent disease from microbial pathogens.

Understanding plant disease resistance will help prevent future crop loss by pathogen attack, which is vital to global food security.

In particular, Adam focuses on the plant-pathogen interactions between rice and the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae using structural and biochemical techniques to understand interactions between the two organisms at the protein level.
