The John Innes Centre provides unique opportunities to undergraduate students across the world who are thinking of pursuing a career in science.
Each year, JIC and partner institutes The Sainsbury Laboratory and The Earlham Institute run a residential summer school. The programme runs for eight weeks, and gives all students an interdisciplinary programme of training, research, talks and seminars in state of the art facilities.
This unique opportunity gives students a chance to experience a career as a scientist.
Summer Vacation Bursaries
Many JIC laboratories also welcome undergraduates over the summer period. These provide an excellent opportunity to gain first hand research experience in an internationally respected laboratory, and are particularly useful for undergraduates who may be considering taking up a PhD studentship once they graduate.
