Professor Mike Bevan

Project Leader Genes in the Environment

Biography

Research in the Bevan Group aims to define mechanisms that establish the sizes of plant organs such as leaves and seeds.

They want to use this knowledge to understand factors that determine the yields of crop plants.

The group combine genetic, biochemical and bio imaging approaches in the experimental plant Arabidopsis thaliana to identify genes and mechanisms that influence growth.

Their research also contributes to the understanding of plant genomes in terms of their diversity, gene expression and how polyploidy shapes genomes.
