Neil McKenzie

Visiting Scientist

Neil is currently working on optimisation of nucleic acid extraction protocols for multiple sequencing platforms.

He also contributes to the International Wheat Sequencing Project, in particular sequence of chromosome 3DL through development of library preparation for NGS, including FOSILL jumping libraries, ATAC, ChIP and RNAseq.

Neil is also currently developing a novel protocol for proximity ligation linked to HiC in wheat and progenitors.

Recent projects include investigation into mechanisms responsible for size determination in plant organs, predominantly focusing on the DA1 and Upl3 and related gene systems in Arabidopsis, wheat, Brassica and soybean.
