INCREASE Project

INCREASE – Intelligent Collections of Food Legumes Genetic Resources for European Agrofood Systems

Funded by European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, INCREASE will run for five years and aims to enhance the management and use of crop genetic resources promoting the use of crop diversity in European agriculture.

The project will test innovative solutions focusing on four important Food Legumes chickpea, common bean, lentil and lupin. This will ease access to these crops and facilitate the use of their diversity, while developing new strategies for crop genetic conservation that could apply to other species.

In order to achieve its ambitious goal, the project relies greatly on active community engagement.

Besides running a Citizen Science Experiment from February 2021 with the purpose to test a novel decentralised approach to the conservation and management of genetic resources, INCREASE aims to bring together a wide range of expertise through a dedicated Stakeholder Consortium.

Your engagement will give you full access to a wide range of activities, including; training sessions, dedicated meetings, early access to INCREASE know-how, tools, data and results as well as opportunities to engage with the wider INCREASE community.
