Tropic is a growing seed company that uses cutting-edge gene editing technology to develop new varieties of tropical crops that are easier to cultivate and healthier for people and the planet. Tropic is on a mission to fast-forward the selective breeding process and move tropical agriculture forwards so local grower communities can thrive, and the world’s food supply can be sustained.

Based at the Norwich Research Park, Tropic had these reasons for choosing to co-locate with the John Innes Centre:

The company is already generating revenue and have grown to a staff of over 130 professionals since being formed in 2016.
