Ran Shachar

Postdoctoral Scientist

Ran is a postdoctoral researcher interested in the diverse molecular codes that regulate gene expression.

His work focuses on understanding the roles of RNA structure in regulatory processes, and on developing novel methodologies to study them. He investigates these questions in various plant species, which serve as excellent model systems due to their ability to thrive across diverse environmental conditions and to exhibit distinct phenotypes in response to genetic mutations.

His research explores how RNA structure influences RNA localization, RNA modifications, interactions with RNA-binding proteins, and the potential role of RNA molecules in intercellular communication, including their presence in extracellular vesicles.
