Dr Núria Real Tortosa
Postdoctoral Scientist
Núria holds a PhD in Plant Biology and Biotechnology from the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) in Barcelona, Spain. Her research has focused on plant-pathogen interactions, beginning with doctoral work on plant-viral interactions and continuing through a first postdoc in plant-fungus interactions at the Institute for Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA) also in Barcelona.
She is currently a postdoctoral scientist in Christine Faulkner’s group. Her main research project explores the molecular mechanisms of defense priming in plants.
She also contributes to collaborative projects, including the functional characterization of fungal effectors and the development of advanced methods for studying spatial gene expression patterns in intact plant tissues.
