Maximillian Jones

Max recently completed his PhD in Prof. Cristobal Uauy’s group in JIC Crop Genetics. His doctoral studies explored natural and induced variation for inflorescence traits in the polyploid cereals wheat and tef.

He is now working as the manager of the 2025 AfriPlantSci workshop programme which will be held in Morocco in collaboration with ICARDA and University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P). The project aims to build on the successful foundations of the AfriPlantSci programme (previously run in 2017 and 2019) to deliver training in cutting edge molecular biology techniques and core skills to a new cohort of exceptional plant scientists from Africa and Central Asia.
