Katherine Hinton

Katherine completed her PhD at the University of Birmingham, where she investigated the evolutionary dynamics of Pseudomonas savastanoi, a bacterial pathogen that causes canker disease in ash trees.

Her current research focuses on understanding conserved immune responses across diverse land plants to the broad host-range pathogen Pseudomonas viridiflava. By studying plant–pathogen interactions across evolutionary lineages, she aims to uncover the mechanisms that underpin disease resistance and immunity in plants.
