Dr Hongrui Wang

Hongrui is currently investigating the NOD-like receptors (NLRs) in Streptomyces.

NLR proteins, which are conserved across plants, animals and fungi, primarily function in bacterial immunity. Streptomyces, as multicellular and antibiotic-producing bacteria, also enrich in NLR-like proteins while their specific functions remain largely unknown. Hongrui is exploring the functional diversity of NLR proteins in Streptomyces.
