Emily’s current research aims to predict the outcome of the current epidemic of ash dieback.

By understanding this, the group can advise landowners, foresters and public bodies on the actions they can take to promote the recovery of ash in the UK.

The project is also investigating a possible trade-off between resistance to the dieback fungus and attack by invertebrate herbivores, mediated by the secondary metabolite content of ash trees.
