Dr Dewei Wu

Postdoctoral Scientist

The roots of soil-grown plants are inhabited by a huge number of microbes.

Understanding the complex interaction between plants and the root-associated microbial community is important not only for plant science but also for sustainable agriculture.

Currently, how and why rhizosphere-associated microbiome is modulated by root secretions are largely unknown.

Dewei’s work focuses on exploring the role of root-derived metabolites in shaping plant root microbiota and the effects of root-recruited microbes on plant growth and health.
