Professor Cathie Martin’s Indian Academy of Sciences lectures
Professor Cathie Martin is giving two special lectures after being elected to be the Janaki Ammal Visiting Professor by the Indian Academy of Sciences for 2020, as an outstanding woman in science.
Cathie had hoped to travel to India to present four lectures, but Covid has resulted in the series being moved online and limited to two online talks.
- Wednesday 27 October – ‘Improving our health and well‐being with high quality plant-based foods’
- Wednesday 3 November – ‘The Mystery of Hairy Tomatoes; Identifying Natural Variation Controlling Trichome Formation in Tomato’
Both lectures are from 3:30pm – 5:30pm (India), which is 11am – 1pm (UK) and can be viewed live below.
The Janaki Ammal Visiting Professor is named after botanist and cytogeneticist Janaki Ammal, who joined the John Innes Institute, 1934.
