The John Innes Centre is located on Norwich Research Park, Zone 2. You can use the postcode NR4 7UH to find us – however if you are driving this address may take you to the goods entrance. The main entrance and car park is best accessed at the crossroads with the traffic lights on Colney Lane.

By Bus

Local bus providers include First Norfolk and Suffolk, and KonectBus. For up to date information about bus numbers and timetables, visit their websites, and look for buses to the UEA, or the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.  Both the UEA and hospital are within walking distance from the John Innes Centre.

By Bicycle

There are several cycle storage facilities on-site. The John Innes Centre and the Norwich Research Park are served by two pedalway routes from Norwich Railway station and the city centre, one through the UEA (pink route) and one via Newmarket Road and Cringleford (purple route). You can download a map of the pedalways from Norwich City Council’s website.

We encourage visitors to use sustainable transport, and any visitors arriving by bike can collect a voucher from reception which they can exchange for a hot drink and a pastry at any of our catering outlets.

By Car

The John Innes Centre is located to the south west of Norwich, it is best to approach from the Watton Road (B1108). The Norwich Research Park is well signposted.

There is an on-site car park. On arrival visitors will be prompted to log their registration number at reception. For Conference Centre events, special arrangements should be made with the Conference Centre Manager.

By Train

Norwich has a direct train line to London and Cambridge. The John Innes Centre is 5 miles from Norwich Train Station.

By Air

Norwich International Airport is 5.2 miles from the John Innes Centre. The airport provides links to international destinations via  Schiphol and Manchester airports, and there are direct links to various UK destinations.

London Stansted Airport is 80 miles from the John Innes Centre, and is accessible by train from Norwich via Ely.
