Dr Yuanrong Pei

Yuanrong is interested in the development of wheat spike and how this contributes to yield-related traits. Her research concerns trying to understand how inflorescence meristem shapes wheat spike architecture, and what kind of genetic factors are involved in this elaborate regulation process. She aims to explore the function of both conserved and novel regulators that fine tune wheat spike development, which will provide promising genetic resource for enhancing wheat yield.
