Siegfried Leher

Siegfried works on Magnesium homeostasis in plants.

He is interested in how plants sense magnesium in the environment, as well as their own magnesium nutritional status, how this signal is propagated through the plant, and what responses are initiated to restore homeostasis, increase uptake, and mitigate damage caused by the deficiency.

Siegfried hopes that his research will help reduce magnesium deficiency and increase magnesium content in crops.
