Reuben James

Postgraduate Researcher

Reuben’s research focuses on development and optimisation of tools which could be used to better understand gene function in invertebrates, with a specific focus on Aphids and Whiteflies.

Aphids and Whiteflies are both agricultural pests which can damage their host plants via feeding, reproduction and transmission of plant pathogens.

The tools Reuben is aimming to develop will allow researchers to better assess how genes in the insects function, and in turn will allow for the development of more effective, less harmful agrochemicals/insecticides.
