Pedro Ernesto de Resende

Pedro is interested in natural products from different sources, including bacteria, fungi and plants, particularly that possess antimicrobial activities. He is currently working with specialised metabolites produced by streptomycetes isolated from the wheat endosphere. The main goals are to identify the compounds responsible for antifungal activities against plant pathogens and decipher their roles in the microbe-wheat interactions.
