Katie Long

Postgraduate Researcher Designing Future Wheat

Katie is a Sainsbury PhD student in Professor Cristobal Uauy’s lab.

Katie is interested in reproductive development in wheat, and how we can use new tools to further our understanding of how wheat spikes gain their unique shape.

Currently, she works on spatial transcriptomics and live imaging in plants. Before joining John Innes Centre, Katie completed a BSc in Plant Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, where she studied boundary formation in maize shoot apical meristems
