Justin Abi-Assaf

Justin is currently part of the EDESIA PhD Programme.

The Wellcome Trust-funded EDESIA PhD programme combines the multidisciplinary expertise across the Norwich Research Park (NRP). It involves a rotation year during which Justin will undergo different projects tackling different aspects of health such as cancer research, cognitive health, and the gut microbiota. Justin’s research interests lie in health, nutrition, microbiology, and drug discovery. He is interested in utilising food, particularly plant-based bioactive compounds, not only as a source of sustenance but also as a tool to reduce morbidity and ultimately improve human health. Ultimately, he aims on narrowing down his research topic by utilising the collaborative spirit of the NRP to produce scientific research with a positive impact on society.
