Dr Hicret Aslı Yalçın

Postdoctoral Scientist

Asli is currently running bioinformatic analysis to identify candidate genes having role in PAMP-triggered immunity (PTI) in Brassica species.

She investigated various aspects of PTI, a fundamental process that is both involved in the recognition of microbes and identified the abiotic stress conditions that influence the PTI responses.

To support the breeding of new varieties with improved traits of being resistant to diseases and being environmentally stable, Asli developed markers and genetically map the regions having role in PTI on Brassica napus (AACC) and Brassica oleracea (CC) genome.

Her current research aims to identify the genes specifically located on the mapped regions associated with PAMP-triggered immunity and regulation of the abiotic and biotic stress responses.

Asli has BSc degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics and holds a PhD in Biological Sciences.
