George’s research focuses on RNAs produced by insect pests and translocated into plants, and how they modulate insect performance on a given host plant.

Aphid species are an economically significant crop pest, and understanding the mechanisms by which they improve their performance on host plants would allow researchers to reduce damage to crops by aphid species, without the need for pesticides.
