Dr Geng-Jen Jang

Postdoctoral Scientist

Geng-Jen’s research focuses on the co-transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms involved in the regulation of FLC expression.

Arabidopsis thaliana FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) is a major repressor of flowering, an important transition process from vegetative to reproductive developments in flowering plants. FLOWERING CONTROL LOCUS A (FCA), an RNA-binding protein that associates with RNA 3’-end processing factors and forms nuclear bodies involved in the co-transcriptional mechanism of FLC.

Geng-Jen is exploring advanced mechanisms of nuclear bodies involved in the FLC regulation by using microscopy techniques and molecular experiments.

He is also interesting in epigenetic memory systems includes Polycomb-mediated epigenetic silencing of FLC.
