Emily is interested in the signalling pathways involved in the symbiotic associations between legumes and beneficial bacteria.

In particular, she is researching the role and regulation of nuclear calcium signalling in the formation of these symbioses.

She is also investigating the role of nuclear calcium signalling in other aspects of plant development.
