Dr Besiana Sinanaj

Besiana joined the Balk Lab in March 2024 to pursue her research interests in legumes.

She is working on the development and characterisation of a Pisum sativum (pea) mutant population generated through chemical mutagenesis (EMS).

Previously, she completed a postdoc in plant-fungal interactions at the University of Sheffield, building on her PhD work which focused on the distribution and function of diverse mycorrhizal fungi
