The Department of Molecular Microbiology is organising a one and a half day Early- Career Microbiologists Mini-Symposium.

The symposium will be held from Tuesday 22nd – Wednesday 23rd September 2026.

Overview

The aim of this event is for the John Innes Centre to hear state-of-the-art presentations in bacterial microbiology, to enhance our understanding of where exciting new developments in the field are heading and help shape our ideas about future research areas that could be developed within the Department.

Applications are invited from early-career scientists (PhD students and Postdocs) working on any exciting aspect of bacterial microbiology to give a 25-minute talk.

The option to hold this symposium using a hybrid format will be available, with speakers attending in person or virtually to present their research, depending on their ability to travel.
