Inside Science

Inside Science 2013

Inside Science 2013 took place from the 22nd to 24th October 2013. Seventeen enthusiastic pupils were chosen from nine schools across Norfolk and Suffolk to gain an insight to the science carried out on the Norwich Research Park.

The pupils carried out experiments with Scanning Electron Microscopes as well as spending time in the insectary, mass spectrometry, GM and genome analysis centre laboratories.

Spring Fling

JIC took an exhibition stand to the Royal Norfolk Aagricultural Association Spring Fling event on April 5th 2016 featuring wheat, entomology and microscopy to inspire children towards science.

A valuable connection to primary school children that's local and attracted approx 5000 members of the public on the day.

Five years ago Joanna Wolstenholme spent a week experiencing JIC science at our annual Inside Science schools event. Since then she has embarked on a career in scientific research, which has led her back to the John Innes Centre this summer.

London International Youth Science Forum visit JIC

In July a group of aspiring and talented young scientists visited the John Innes Centre as part of the London International Youth Science Forum. The Forum has taken place every year since 1959 when it was set up as a post-war effort to encourage international scientific collaboration.
