Applications are invited for an Administrator to join the John Innes Centre to help enhance the delivery of excellent science.
The John Innes Centre is an independent, international centre of excellence in plant science, genetics and microbiology.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the department of Crop Genetics, to help provide administrative support for the MSc course in Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement.
This is a varied and diverse role. The main activities will include:
- Provide administrative support to the directors of the MSc course to ensure effective running of the course. This will include minute taking, booking catering and transport, filing and maintaining excellent communication with students and course organisers
- Organise the induction of new students, including arranging networking events and student trips
- Liaise with lecturers, course organisers and scientists to arrange timetables and communicate them to students
- Work with Finance and HR to provide information relating to accounting and staffing queries
The ideal candidate
Candidate should possess at least 5 GCSEs, grades A*-C or equivalent, including Maths and English. Substantial experience of working in an administrative role within an academic environment is essential. Experience of budgeting, making travel arrangements and taking minutes would be highly advantageous.
Salary on appointment will be within the range £24,300 to £29,750 pro rata, per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part time post of 15 hours per week on a permanent basis.
