The John Innes Centre, in partnership with the UEA, runs a range of postgraduate research opportunities, with PhD studentships available in labs across the institute.

Students are a highly valued part of the John Innes Centre community, with the John Innes Student Voice Committee engaged in activities across the institute and beyond, with external callaborators. Opportunities for formal scientific training are frequent, and further programmes including media and communications courses give students the chance to broaden their skillsets in multiple directions, obtaining transferable skills.

MSc Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement

The John Innes Centre runs a one-year MSc course in Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement alongside the University of East Anglia School of Biological Sciences and The Sainsbury Laboratory. 

The course focuses on pant molecular genetics and its potential applications to crop improvement in the 21st century.
