Want to focus on advanced scientific research?

Or become a forward-thinking, essential plant breeder?

We offer one MSc - two career paths.

A one-year MSc course in Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement, which provides training for students wishing to undertake a further degree in plant molecular genetics, or dive straight into the industry.

The course focuses on plant molecular genetics and potential applications to crop improvement in the context of the 21st century.

In addition to studying core modules, you will undertake a six-month laboratory-based research project under the supervision of either a member of the School of Biological Sciences or a Senior Scientist at the John Innes Centre.

The course is jointly run by the UEA and the John Innes Centre, and often leads directly to sought after PhD placements around the world or promising employment within the plant breeding industry.
