Jesús Quiroz Chávez

Postgraduate Researcher Designing Future Wheat

Jesús is from México, and works as a Postgraduate Researcher in the Uauy group, where he tries  to elucidate the impact of artificial selection on haplotype diversity in wheat.

Defining these regions will allow a more targeted mining of allelic variation.

He employs a range of bioinformatic tools to analyze the genetic diversity between landraces and modern elite varieties and determine the phenotypic value of those relative-old germplasm alleles in modern breeding for yield and quality traits.
