Dr Roberto Biello

Postdoctoral Scientist

Roberto is interested in studying the demographic and evolutionary processes affecting populations and species of conservation concern (endangered or invasive species).

Currently he is involved in a large collaborative project BRIGIT to study froghopper and leafhopper species that are candidate insect vectors of the invasive plant pathogen Xylella fastidiosa.

Roberto is generating draft genome assemblies of multiple froghopper and leafhopper species, carrying out comparative genome analysis, and investigating population structure and species-wide diversity using genomic data.
