Postdoctoral Scientist Plant Health

Plant cells in a tissue are interconnected via small channels, allowing communication among neighbours.

The conductivity of these channels is reduced when cells perceive signals of imminent pathogen invasion.

Jeroen investigates hows this reduced conductivity modulates the outcome of a pathogen attack.

To study this he uses Arabidopsis and the moss Physcomitrella patens as plant model systems.
