Andrew Bangham (1947 - 2014)
With great regret and sadness the death of Andrew Bangham is announced.
Andrew was an immensely talented scientist and a great friend to many scientists at the John Innes Centre. He was Head of Computer Sciences at UEA and founded the D’Arcy Thompson Centre for Computational Biology.
He worked very closely with Enrico Coen and his group over many years to pioneer the application of mathematics and imaging to model growing plant organs.
He was a founding light in an exceptionally productive interaction in Norwich, and our science and lives have been greatly diminished by his loss.
