Dr Mark Banfield awarded tenure

Dr Mark Banfield has been awarded tenure at the John Innes Centre after a successful final tenure review.

Dr Banfield joined the John Innes Centre in 2008 as a Project Leader in the Department of Biological Chemistry.

His core research focuses on structural biology and the biochemistry of host/pathogen interactions, on which he closely collaborates with other Norwich scientists.

“The John Innes Centre and partner institutions on the Norwich Research Park, such as The Sainsbury Laboratory, make Norwich a special place for science,” said Dr Banfield.

“I can now look forward to developing long-term studies on the molecular basis of plant disease to help make discoveries to protect our food crops.”
