Current Projects

We are interested in genetic and hormonal regulation of fruit development in the Brassicaceae family. We are particular interested in the model species Arabidopsis and the Brassica species B. rapa and B. napus (oilseed rape).

Current projects in the lab include:

1.      Hormonal patterning of Arabidopsis and Brassica fruits with emphasis on auxin and gibberellins.

2.      Hormonal regulation of fruit initiation.

3.      QTL analysis for identifying loci involved in pod shatter Resistance in B. napus.

4.      Identification and functional (mutant) analysis of key regulators of Brassica fruit development.

5.      Identification of domestication traits in B. rapa using cross between R-o-18 (oilseed) and Gargantua (cabbage)

6.      The role of methyl halide production in plants (Arabidopsis, Brassica, rice and Physcomitrella).
