We use an Äkta FPLC system to purify our protein preparations.

We use a Dynapro-MSTC Dynamic light scattering instrument (Protein solutions Inc.) to assess the integrity of our protein samples prior to crystallization. It also yields useful information concerning the oligomerization state of proteins.

We have an anaerobic box (Belle Technology) which enables us to crystallize oxygen sensitive proteins under an atmosphere of nitrogen. We also use it when we want to maintain redox proteins in a reduced state.

We have ‘in house’ X-ray data collection facilities comprising a Rigaku RU-H3R rotating anode X-ray generator, Osmic confocal optics, an X-Stream cryocooler and an X-ray Research Mar345 imaging plate detector.

We mainly use Linux computers for data analysis and interactive graphics.
