Metabolite profiles and plant stress:

We are examining transgenic lines of pea, containing a drought-inducible marker gene, in order to provide information both on the effect of drought-stress on the metabolome and on any unpredicted consequences of transgene expression. Metabolite profiling of leaves and seeds from stressed and non-stressed plants is ongoing, in collaboration with the Food and Environment Research Agency, York.
