Summer Schools in Applied Molecular Microbiology

Summer Schools in Applied Molecular Microbiology

Costs

Participants will be accommodated in single or twin air-conditioned rooms at the IUC and all meals will be provided at a restaurant within a couple of minutes of the Centre or at other venues in the beautiful Old City of Dubrovnik.

The total charge for the eight days board and lodging, including the opening reception and the closing party, will be 600 Euro, with an additional registration fee of 150 Euro, both payable in advance. This represents a significant reduction compared with previous years, made possible by the raising of additional financial support to enable us to subsidise the costs. Some grants will be available to assist qualifying applicants – see below under “Application procedure”. We hope that these measures will make the summer school accessible to a wide range of applicants.

There will be a modest supplement for the excursion, to be paid locally.

Application procedure

Applicants should fill in the attached form (.doc file), (or PDF ) and send it by e-mail to David Hopwood (david.hopwood@jic.ac.uk) by 15 April 2012. If you have any queries please contact David Hopwood at any time.

There are two types of grants to assist attendance:

  1. FEMS Young Scientists Meeting Grants. Members of a FEMS member society, or those working in a country with a microbiological society affiliated to FEMS and recommended by such a member, may apply on the attached form, which must be sent to David Hopwood (NOT to FEMS) with your application.

  2. Scientists from less developed countries may apply for a grant from the summer school organisation made possible by a donation from the Agouron Institute. To apply, please attach a letter to your application making a case for financial assistance.
