·        Understand plant processes and traits of economic and biological significance at the genetic and molecular levels.  

 

·        Assess the significance of relationships within and between crops and their wild relatives at the genetic and molecular levels.

 

·        Develop and disseminate methods and resources for the investigation and exploitation of genetic variation within crops.
