Venue

The meeting will be held at the John Innes Centre, situated in pleasant rural surroundings by the University of East Anglia, on the outskirts of the historical City of Norwich. All lectures (including Bateson Lecture), Poster Session and Social Evening, will be held in the JIC Conference Centre with accommodation provided on the University Campus. Back

Bateson Memorial Lecture

The Bateson Memorial Lecture will be held on Wednesday 19th July in the evening in the John Innes Centre Lecture Theatre and will be followed by a wine and cheese reception. The lecture will be . given by Hugh Pelham from the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge. The title of his talk will be "Controlling the fate of membrane proteins" Back

Symposium Dinner

The dinner will be held at Caistor Hall nr Norwich. Caistor Hall, is set in the heart of the coutryside. This Georgian House is set in 30 acres of woodland and private gardens. Caistor Hall is an attractive Grade II listed country property dating back to the early 19th Century.

A coach will collect those delegates wishing to attend the dinner from the UEA, on arrival and weather permitting drinks will be served on the lawn, followed by a 3 course dinner in their marquee. The cost of the dinner will be £35.00 per person. Back

Social Evening

There will be a Social evening on Friday 21st July for those of you not departing until Saturday. The Social Evening will be held at JIC and will consist of a BBQ/Hog Roast and cash bar. Those of you not wishing to partake in the BBQ/Hog Roast are still welcome to attend. There will also be an opportunity to visit the JIC Rare Books collection. The cost of the BBQ/Hog Roast will be £17.00 per person. Back


Car Parking

There are parking facilities at both the John Innes Centre and University of East Anglia. A map of the John Innes Centre, the University Campus, and their locations in relation to the City of Norwich, along with information on procedures for registration on arrival will be provided at a later date. Back

Accompanying Persons

A limited number of rooms can be made available for non-participants, at rates quoted above, and a few twin or double rooms are available (see also under Accommodation) but are very limited in number and early reservation is advisable.

Accompanying persons are most welcome to attend the Dinner and the charges indicated on the Registration Form will apply.

Please complete a separate form for an accompanying person and ensure that it is firmly attached to the relevant participant's Registration Form.

Unfortunately, because of staff shortages, we regret we are unable to arrange a visitors' programme. However, information on Norwich, the surrounding area and local transportation can be provided if required. Back

Transportation

Transport will be provided for journeys between the University and John Innes Centre. However, should the weather be kind, the short walk across the river valley (approx. 10 minutes) is an extremely pleasant and enjoyable way to start and end the day.

If you have any mobility problems please provide details with your registration form and we will do all we can to assist you. Back

Meals

The cost of Lunches is included in the Registration Fee, and vouchers will be provided to be redeemed each day. Evening meals can be purchased by delegates at The Diner on the University Campus. A list of local eating places will be available on request. Back
