Scientific databases

The Department of Computational & Systems Biology and collaborating science groups at the John Innes Centre provide a number of web portals and scientific databases for the global research community. Some of these are maintained simply as legacy datasets whilst others are being actively developed, using cutting edge technologies such as BioMOBY.

  • ATIDB - a database of transposon insertions in Arabidopsis and a gateway to functional genomics resources. Now also contains comparative genomic data from in silico mapping of homologous sequences
  • BrassicaDB - a Brassica sequence and genetic mapping database
  • Brassica IGF project - a database of draft physical mapping data for the Brassica 'A' and 'C' diploid genomes, integrated with the Arabidopsis genome sequence
  • Streptomyces.org.uk- provides access to a wide range of information relevant to Streptomyces research, including the ScoDB database
  • IMSORB - project database for an EU consortium developing new SNP markers for Brassica napus
  • Pisum collection and PGene - germplasm accession and gene list databases for Pisum
