The John Innes Centre receives strategic funding from BBSRC
Independent Research Fellow Progression at JICFellows at JIC receive mentoring in career progression and additional training to support their development as research group leaders. Undertaking a five-year fellowship at JIC is seen as a staging towards a formal assessment for a tenured Project Leader post at the JIC. Fellows are part of the Junior Faculty at JIC. During their five-year fellowship, Fellows are formally assessed on their future research plans and scientific outputs against clear criteria by a senior panel of JIC scientists. Fellows who successfully meet all the criteria will be transferred to the tenure-track programme.
