JIC science depends on the expertise of the Centre's support staff. The complex and highly specialised nature of JIC's core business activities demands a specialised infrastructure. This ranges from sophisticated plant growth requirements to tailored computing services and from maintenance of purpose designed buildings to provision of detailed contract management expertise.

Recruitment, employment and training of our 800+ staff is complex as we have large numbers of staff on short-term contracts and many overseas visitors. Finally, the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment on the site requires not only constant vigilance by all staff but the support and advice of a dedicated Health and Safety team.
