Commemorative imagesRelated linksJIC Named Lecture SeriesIn July 2000 JIC began a series of 6 Lectures held in honour of people significant in their history, in addition to the biennial Bateson Lecture which was first held in 1951 in honour of the first Director, William Bateson. To commemorate each Lecture, Leoni Woolhouse, a local artist and widow of former John Innes Director Harold Woolhouse, was commissioned to produce a work of art illustrating the interests of the person the Lecture was in honour of. A copy is presented to each Lecturer and Enrico Coen, a research scientist at the Centre, in turn captures each Lecturer in pastel during their visit to the John Innes. The series comprises:
